| Days and days of rain have now brought Lake Allatoona water levels up past full pool which is 840. Currently we are at 847.38 and climbing, reports are speculating the water will reach 850 by Thursday, May 9th. Between the rainfall and unseasonably low daily temperatures Lake Allatoona has yet to kick off the spring season. This is hitting the pocket of many local businesses on and around the lake that depend on the revenue that the lake provides, not to mention the cost of damage and repairs after a flood like this. It will take days if not weeks for Lake Allatoona to recover from this flood. Since the docks at all |
eight marinas are not accessible this will further delay the short economic recovery that is brought by 6 to 7 million visitors per year.
There are many closures around the lake so be sure to check ahead before planning to visit the lake.
