Red Top Mountain State Park is located surround the beautiful shores of Lake Allatoona in North Georgia. There is plenty to explore and do during your camping trip at Red Top Mountain.
Hiking the trails to explore the beauty of nature at it’s best, you will find different levels of difficulty and many of the trails lead you around the shoreline of Allatoona Lake.
Biking along the Iron Hill Trail is perfect for beginners. For the advanced mountain bike riders you will find more challenging old road paths off of the Iron Hill Trail that will take you up the mountain for amazing views of Lake Allatoona.
If you are looking for more relaxing entertainment such as fishing, boating or just swimming, Red Top Mountain State Park has that too.
You can bring your own boat and launch it or rent a boat from one of the several marinas located around Allatoona Lake.
If you plan to fish be sure to purchase a fishing licence and keep it with you at all times. There are fishing guide services at Lake Allatoona also.
Red Top Mountain State Park has a sandy beach (seasonal) for swimming and many places to have the perfect picnic with the family.
Included in the First Time Camper program is:
Camping 101 - To get you off to a great start you will have a guide that will educate you on how to properly set up your campsite and give you tips about camping. You will also receive an emergency phone number that can be used at night if you should need assistance.
Gear - You will provided with top quality gear furnished by REI and Coleman.This is a great way to test out their products and if you find that you like camping and their products you will receive coupons so you can start building your own camping gear collection.
